About Us

The New Jersey Water Resources Research Institute (NJWRRI) is a federally-funded program of research, training, and information transfer concerning all aspects of fresh and estuarine water in the state.

Its mission is to:

  • sponsor research on all aspects of water quality, water quantity, water use, and management of water resources
  • train students at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels to become the next generation of water resource professionals in New Jersey
  • facilitate the transfer of information from researchers to water resource managers and the public

  • Special Poster Invitation to Students Supported by NIWR Centers/Institutes 
    Students supported by NIWR centers and institutes are invited to submit an abstract for a poster presentation at the 2023 UCOWR/NIWR Water Resources Conference in Ft. Collins, CO June 13-15.  Abstracts should be submitted by email to Karl Williard ( and should contain the following information: title, presenter, presenter affiliation and email, co-authors, NIWR center or institute supporting the work, and (250-word maximum) poster description. The submission deadline WAS April 11, 2023.
