About Us

The New Jersey Water Resources Research Institute (NJWRRI) is a federally-funded program of research, training, and information transfer concerning all aspects of fresh and estuarine water in the state.
Its mission is to:
- sponsor research on all aspects of water quality, water quantity, water use, and management of water resources
- train students at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels to become the next generation of water resource professionals in New Jersey
- facilitate the transfer of information from researchers to water resource managers and the public

The call for FY2026 104(b) proposals is OPEN. The deadline for submission of proposals IS Friday, MAY 1, 2026 by 12PM, NOON.
- NIWR-USGS National Competitive Grants Program 104(g) - Funding of selected proposals will not occur until May 2026 at the earliest as per USGS.
